Watch this live recording of a virtual stream from Bohemia Interactive Simulations at DSET 2023 ‘Let’s Talk Terrain’ where Rusmat Ahmed is joined by Earl Laamanen, and Bill Starmer to discuss the future of terrain building.

Bohemia Interactive Simulations (BISim) has been a key supporter and lead sponsor of the Defence Simulation, Education, and Training (DSET) conference and community, from its launch 8 years ago. 2023 sees them again take the lead as the Tech Sponsor, enabling the fusion of an outstanding virtual platform with the live event. The hybrid format was introduced in 2020 before the pandemic and proved extremely popular with delegates, speakers and exhibitors. Of course, this timely innovation proved key to the continuation and growth of DSET, enabling it to be the only hybrid event globally, in Military Simulation and Training, that ran in 2021.

BISim’s ability to see value in tech innovation is a core part of their DNA as a team, but to enable others, in the same way, shows commitment and investment in the very community that it has matured in.

DSET’s significant yearonyear growth has led to more opportunities for BISim, and all delegates, to network and forge new connections with key Military and government experts, identify challenges, and learn about the latest developments and ideas in Defence, Simulation, Education, and Training, as well as explore the most cuttingedge innovations in the sector.

Growth is not just about numbers but also about the development of the community. In 2023 DSET will deliver:

  • Expansions of the Wargaming and Maritime conference streamsdirectly led by the community.
  • A growing DSET Intern programme offering paid positions for young people, both to attend the conference and also as employees in the industry. Answering the recruitment capability gap in Defence.
  • Meetings and socials for the Defence Women’s Action Board (DWAB), supporting all Women in Defence, Security and Medicine. Its development continues a pace with exciting prospects for all involved.
  • A new MoD Stakeholder Day  this will feature workshops from DSTL, SISO, DE&S with their Gladiator and MCAST teams, and programme tables from the Defence Export Team, NATO, and many others.
  • The inaugural Serious Games Showcase and Challenge Europe (SGSCE) this brilliant challenge involves the entire community, reaches out to schools, colleges and universities, governments, militaries, industry and individuals. All can participate as game developers, assessors and supporters.

Capturing, harnessing, and developing talent from a multitude of backgrounds and expertise matches BISim’s maxim of Innovate, Disrupt, Serve. Our guiding motivation for DSET is to bring together all parts of the existing community, serve it with the highest standards, and bring in talent and innovation from other industries and areas of research that can help answer increasingly complex challenges.

BISim has remained at the forefront of the industry and become an integral part of the DSET community. They engage in, and contribute to, key conversations in Military Simulation and Training, showcase their products and customer support services, and are closely involved in developing latest innovations in the industry.

Bohemia Interactive Simulations (BISim) uses the hybrid event format of the DSET conference to best effect, reaching a growing, targeted, global audience that fits their customer demographic. The inperson expo booth provides a space to welcome customers, existing and new, to showcase and demonstrate their latest products, while the virtual booth allows conference delegates to explore the organization’s offerings and products remotely, with the team on hand to ask questions or book a meeting.

Their mission to “harness the explosive potential of technology to revolutionize training and simulation” means that BISim grabs the attention of every attendee and continues to surprise with the latest technology, costeffective training and simulation software products and components for defence applications. We can’t wait to see what they will reveal at #DSET2023!
